You may remember that we dealt with Paper & Tea in a previous post, a concept store where the Art of tea meets the Art of print. Today we’re visiting Type Hype, another retail concept mixing two categories of products : coffee and design / graphical Art.

Type Hype is located in the Rosa Luxemburg strasse (near Alexanderplatz), a street where you’ll find several retail settings worth the visit (have a look at our map of worthwhile retail concepts). The décor of Type Hype is particularly interesting since it mixes a modern coffee shop look with elements from a print shop. A room behind the bar is dedicated to print production (cell phone sleeves, Moleskine-type booklets, stickers, …) and here again the design is very interesting (furniture, real equipment, …).

Noticeable also is the use of an old piece of furniture to integrate an ipad : when vintage meets modernity.

All in all a very compelling customer experience and a superb design. If you visit the shop you’ll easily spend a quarter exploring, touching and sensing the different products while sipping a coffee.
